Together, the class will have fun with the works of William Shakespeare. Child-appropriate chunks of the Bard's works will lay a foundation for reading or performing his original works. These students will enter Shakespeare’s world, 'see' the settings, ‘hear’ the characters speak and feel their emotions, and together with their teacher create an exciting performance piece! The audience will enjoy a presentation at the end of each term and a stage production in the Spring Student Showcase.

Teen Portfolio Development

This course will focus on developing students’ observational skills while focusing on tone, form, proportion, likeness, depth, composition, and texture. Special attention will be given to portraiture, life drawing, and still life. Students will work from a model in preparation for the Canterbury visual arts interview. Through a variety of painting, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture projects, students will refine their skills and develop a substantial body of work. This course will cover all of the requirements for the Canterbury visual arts portfolio. Also available to teens wanting to attend De la Salle or pursuing their own interest in art. This course is open to new and returning students. Students are asked to bring their own sketchbooks each class. (Tuition includes one draped model.)

Gingerbread House Workshop

SAC - GPS - Gingerbread House
2 participants for 1 price ($85 + HST) can come and create 1 beautiful handbuilt pottery Gingerbread House. You and a friend, you and your child (minimum age 7 years), or you and your partner will build 1 gingerbread house together using clay slabs during this 3 hour workshop. Both participants will use handbuilding techniques such as coils and carving to embellish your unique house. Once the house is constructed and decorated participants will use under-glaze to paint the house. Our technicians will take care of firing the house in our kilns. Your gingerbread house will be ready 3 weeks after the workshop for you to pick up.

When registering use one name only so you are only charged once.
