This course in Acting is for students who would like to learn about acting in a fun environment. Learn how to lift a script off the page and bringing it to life on the stage! You will overcome your inhibitions of performing in front of others, learn the basics of becoming a character in a play, hone the acting chops which you may have already developed years ago, and rehearse scenes for performance onstage in front of a gentle audience. You’re never too old to become a star!

Figure Drawing: Mastering the Human Figure - Inter/Adv (English)

In this 8-session course, students will familiarize themselves with the 3D structure of the human figure through a series of 8 sessions of figure drawing combined with sketching. The model poses will progressively become more challenging throughout the sessions. Academic drawing and sketching are fundamental for the development of a successful drawing technique and an excellent way of gaining hand control over the line and honing fine motor skills. Eye training and the ability to catch movement, proportions, and composition all at once will be practiced through the sketching exercises. This is a great course for students wanting to work on longer poses with models, and looking for one-on-one feedback. Prerequisite: This course is adapted for students with drawing experience. (Note: This course allows you to draw in a sitting position. It doesn’t require you to stand for long periods of time.) (8 models)

We will explore simplifying a photograph through various options: the use of a limited palette, different sizes of canvas, how to feel and observe nature. There is so much to explore in art that returning students will be constantly challenged and new students at the intro/inter level will find that there is lots to try and learn. Wheel Level 1

This course is an in-depth introductory wheel course. Class duration 2.5 hours for 7 consecutive weeks. The student will cover the basic techniques for the beginner. You will first learn the art of centering the clay which will allow you make different pot shapes. Trimming a foot onto a pot and surface decoration is covered. A Thunder of Dragons Workshop (Bilingual)

Come and create your very own hand built pottery dragon! Each participant will design 1 dragon using clay. During this 1.5 hour workshop participants will learn the pinch pot and coil methods of handbuilding. The participant will complete their dragon by embellishing it with textures. Our technicians will take care of firing your dragon in our kilns. The dragons will be ready 2 weeks after the workshop for you to pick up.

This beginning print class introduces students to a variety of relief and intaglio printing techniques, enabling them to explore their own imagery through the versatility of print. Use of soya based inks, which clean up with soap and water.

Woodcarving: Developing Creative Ideas - All Levels (Bilingual)

The emphasis will be on giving each student a chance to develop in a direction which is suitable for their own abilities and more personal and creative ideas. The course will cover traditional and contemporary wood sculpture practices, basic cutting techniques, treatment of wood surfaces, wood coloring, 2D and 3D carving techniques. Step by step assistance and simple projects will be provided to beginners, and students with some experience will be encouraged to work on their personal projects with the instructor’s guidance.

Let’s try a different approach. This workshop plays with the reversal of the usual warm highlights and cool blue shadows. This is a great technique for painting light with added brightness and for painting night scenes. Cool light lifts a painting with a sparky charge while the mulling darks of warm shadows pitch dramatically into inviting heat. You will learn to mix blue violet vibrant glints of light and warm ambered rust and eggplant violets for shadows. All levels.
