Level 1 (in-depth)

GPS courses
This course is an in-depth introductory wheel course. Class duration 2.5 hours for 8 consecutive weeks. The student will cover the basic techniques for the beginner. You will first learn the art of centering the clay which will allow you make different pot shapes. Trimming a foot onto a pot and surface decoration is covered. Upwards of 6-8 pieces can be made during the course. Some materials included. No prerequisite is required.

Draw It! Print It! The Big Picture (Bilingual)

Expressive, colourful, big, fun, powerful and filled with motion, take your art further. In this session we will look at the drawing styles and many different techniques of printmaking. We will have the chance to work on the printing press to print our images using different methods being creative and inventive, with dry point, collagraph and monotypes. We will do linocuts and screen printing and explore printing on t-shirts and other surfaces. We will look for inspiration in the rich history of printmaking, as well as at prominent printmakers of our day.
