Let’s Play Camps
OYP Theatre School teaches theatre by doing theatre. All camps end with a performance on stage with lights, costumes, sound and a great deal of fun! Monday through Thursday students will work and PLAY in the OYPTS Studios learning about drama and theatre as they prepare for their performance which will take place on the Friday. Camp performances take place in the Richcraft Theatre on Friday at 3 pm.

Pottery and Dance Camp
Enjoy a week of varied activities in our dance and pottery camps. Shenkman Arts Centre’s professional dance instructors will introduce you to elements of tap, jazz, ballet, hip hop and even give you a chance to invent your own moves! Boys and girls will let the music move them in these high energy sessions. Guided by the highly experienced instructors of the Gloucester Pottery School you will work on a new project every day. Your clay masterpieces will be created, glazed and fired in state-of-the-art pottery studios. Within three weeks of their creation, your works will be ready to bring home.

Future Fashionista (B)
A perfect entree into the world of fashion design. This introductory camp is a good start for any teen that is a fashionista at heart, is curious about what it takes to start a fashion design career, and hasn’t lots of sewing experience! You will finish the course with a unique hand bag of your own and educated in all the fundamental sewing techniques to start making your own clothing. Students will learn how to operate the sewing machine, take proper measurements and learn how to size accordingly, use commercial patterns, learn the varying characteristics of different fabrics and construct an hand bag from “cut” to finish. Students need to bring their own sewing machine.

Express Yourself: Drawing & Painting (B)

The Silk Road | Mixed Media
Join us on a captivating journey along the Silk Road, back in time, a thousand years ago! The Silk Road was a name given to any route that led across China to Rome. It was a 4000-mile trip. At one end was China. At the other end was Rome. Each had something the other wanted. Rome had gold, silver and precious gems. China had silk, spices and ivory. Let’s discover together some old techniques to produce those legendary treasures such as Chinese ink painting, silk painting, clay modeling and much more! The instructor will be bringing her own pictures from her trips to China as a reference for some of the art projects.

Create your Own Design (B)
Are you already drawing and painting, but would like to showcase your art in a different and creative way? Introduce yourself to the technique of screen-printing through creating and printing your own designs on t-shirts, bandanas, bags and posters! You will learn how to use a variety of stencils, simplified ways of setting up a screen-printing workspace, inks, printing surfaces, direct and indirect stencils. Comics (B)
The summer Comics camp is an introductory course teaching teens how to write and draw comics, manga (Japanese comics) and graphic novels. Students will invent their own stories and learn how to write, storyboard, draw, ink and colour them. No previous writing or drawing skills are required to take this course.

Put on your flippers and tuba and immerse yourself into the fantastic aquatic world in this one-week art camp! Create your own sea world with extraordinary creatures and colorful corals. You are interested in photography? This camp will cover the basic principles of photography such as composition, light sources, how to photograph portraits, landscapes and action scenes.
